Tony Sarg's "Oasis Cafe" was located across the corridor from the "Lounge Restaurant" in the Peacock Alley lounge and cafe region of our hotel throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

The murals on the walls of the Oasis Cafe contained mural's designed by artist and puppeteer Anthony Frederick Sarg; a.k.a. Tony Sarg.

In 1928, Tony Sarg and his protege Bil Baird designed and built tethered helium-filled balloons up to 125 feet (40 m) long, resembling animals, for the New York institution of Macy's department store, involving a number of issues familiar from puppetry; these participated in the store's Thanksgiving Day parade.

In 1935, he undertook the puppet-related work of designing Macy's elaborate animated window display between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
