75 very beautiful colour-plates after paintings by R. Talbot Kelly and a folding map at the end of the volume. Tall 8vo, publisher s original burgundy cloth, gilt lettered and magnificently decorated all-over the upper cover and spine in an elaborate motif with peacocks and peacock feathers within an elaborate architectural setting in gilt, red, and green, t.e.g. xiv, 260 pp., folding map, 4 ads. A fine, very well-preserved copy of this highly decorated A & C Black production, the spine panel just a bit mellowed by time in a pleasing fashion, uncommonly clean and fresh with just the lightest bit of the usual spotting to the text-block, and this appearing only very occasionally, the plates all very fine.
